Snippets of Wizeline Culture

I’m a software developer with 4 years of experience.

I joined Wizeline Vietnam in Dec 2018. Still I’m still impressed by the culture and people I have met here.

Interview Process

The first thing that caught my attention was the interview process. I had joined quite a lot of interviews before (both as candidate and interviewer), sort and long ones. The process at Wizeline is not only for the company to evaluate the candidate but also a chance for the candidate to get to know the company and people who that they would work with. Yes, to some it may feel long (3 round, with the last round is on site whole day at Wizeline office). But take this, it’s the effort of the whole interview team, and they really invest in prepare it. I really enjoyed my day working with them.

Catering Service

The next thing is FOOD.You never have to wonder “What will I eat today?” (which is sometimes the hardest question for me) at Wizeline with our catered meal service for breakfast and lunch every day. There are a lot of good value behind this:

  • when everyone eating together, it feel like family, really help the relation ship between people
  • it helps newcomers to get to know everyone faster
  • it spreads the “flat culture” spirit, there is no distance, managers and leaders eat the same meals with all other team members.

Communication & Recognition

Another things is Communication. I can really feel the “positive attitude” being spread everywhere. It’s the first times i see a company has a whole process to encourage, regconize, reward people doing good things. Not only in term of the company’s interest, but also as helping each others everyday.

  • There is a Slack channel called “Kudos” which people use to publicly thank others for anything and everything (bringing coffee, helping them on a project, etc.).
  • Awesome Award for people to nominate others, who go above and beyond their duty. (there is $ reward for this every month)
  • All of above get sumary by year end and people will get more reward also.

Learning Organization

Another culture I feel at Wizeline is knowledge sharing, both internal and external. There is Internal Tech Talk every week, where everyone can talk about any topic they feel interest or new technology.

Wizeline also host Academy events that people from outside the company could come and join freely, we believe this is a way to help the tech community grow and also attract more people.

Transparency

One last thing i want to share is the transparent process. There is an internal app where imployee could ask any question (named or anonymous) to any one or department, include the executive staffs like CEO, CTO,…

The slogan to resolve any problem at Wizeline is “Nothing beats a one on one”; employees are encouraged to speak up whenever they have a question or see something wrong, and are even able to reach out directly to the high-level managers.

Above is just a small part from the experience i had while working here at Wizeline. Above all, i think the best benefit for an engineer is to work with the best people.

Looking forward to continue to work with amazing people here.
